38+38Gb Ethernet and 4G TDM traffic switched in one module
Loop PTN10G Card Connectivity (June 2018)
The switch on one single PTN10G card concatenates up to 4G TDM traffic (DS0, PDH, and SDH/SONET) from other modules on the same O9500R. The on-board SFP ports of up to 38 GbE can be doubled when an additional PTN10G card is mounted.
38 GbE + 38 GbE
On the front panel of a PTN10G card are: - Eight 1Gb Ethernet SFP ports - Three 10Gb Ethernet SFP+ ports
MPLS-TP and Carrier Ethernet backbone transportation can also be achieved via GbE bundles to provide high bandwidth pipes, yielding a total amount of 38GbE bandwidth.
On each O9500R, two PTN10G cards can be simultaneously mounted. The additional 38GbE traffic from the second PTN10G can all be merged onto one single PTN10G, boosting the total system capacity to 76GbE .
PDH/SDH/SONET
The SDH/SONET backplane port accommodates up to STM-16/OC-48 from each XCU. For O9500R, DS0, Voice, Analog, E1/T1, STM-1/4/16(OC-3/12/48) cannels from other modules can all be cross-connected by the XCU and directed to PTN10G via the backplane SDH/SONET port. With two XCUs equipped,up to 4G cross-connected TDM traffic can be merged onto one single PTN10G card.
