The Loop-IP6610 E1/DS1/DTE/DCE/Router/Bridge Box has proven itself to be an economical, trouble free unit on the toll system network that controls an important motorway. This motorway is divided into six sections or departments and there is a management center for each section. The diagram below depicts the data flow to a typical management center.
Information from each toll station is transmitted via the SDH network to the management center.
At individual stations, different vehicle lanes are available depending on how the customer wants to pay. Payment can be by cash, credit card, or debit card. Account holders can also have a passive tag inside their vehicle that is read by a scanner. Some people don’t have the money to pay immediately. Rather than hold up traffic, the gate opens to let them pass and a camera records their license plate number and forwards their information to the management center.
The four Ethernet port IP6610 is ideal for this application because each of the four ports can be dedicated to a specific unit/task such as cash, credit card, passive tag account, and non-payment.
