City Traffic Signal Centralization in Asia

Situation

A carrier in APAC (Asia-Pacific) wanted to centralize whole city traffic signal control system into the control center. That offers a unified real-time view into whole city traffic signals.

Solution

- Loop-AM3440 with 2 wire E&M cards to convert analog traffic signals to 64kbps DS0 and multiplexed onto AM3440 E1/T1 cards. The E1/T1 line was connected to SDH/SONET equipment and transported in SDH/SONET network to the control center. 

- Loop-AM3440 provided a variety of TDM, packet access and voice interfaces for customers to fulfill the needs of future expansion and other application services.

- AM3440 also supports TDM circuit emulation protocols. TDM data and voice services can be encapsulated as Pseudowire and transported over ETH/IP/MPLS switch network.

- As the communication network migrates from TDM to IP, AM3440 provides a flexible and cost-effective choice for the transport of legacy TDM signals.
