VoIP or Data Packets in a SCADA System

The AM3440 with E1, Terminal Server, and Router cards can be used in SCADA systems to connect the Host SCADA Server with IP-phones and Remote Terminal Units (RTUs).

Situation

The customer specifically requested a system which allowed both VoIP packets and data packets to be collected or exchanged over only one E1 line in a SCADA system.

Solution

As shown in the diagram, each AM3440 collects data packets from the IP phone via Ethernet and data from RTUs via RS232/Ethernet. The AM3440s are connected with each other by Nx64Kbps networks with E1 lines. Both VoIP and data packets can be collected or exchanged using the AM3440-A router cards.
