Description
The 8SRU interface card for Loop-AM3440 has 8 interface ports available in two versions. For the RJ version, 8 ports are available in Asynchronous mode. For the DB version, 2 RJ48 connectors provide 2 ports in Asynchronous mode and 2 DB44 provide 3 ports each, two of which can be programmed for Synchronous or Asynchronous mode. One cable is supported for converting from DB44 connector to two DB25 and one DB9 connectors.
The Sub Rate Data (SRU) card allows you to connect up to 8 RS-232 (300 bps to 64 kbps) data terminals to the Loop-AM3440 Access DCS-MUX. You can multiplex a number of those devices onto a single DS0 time slot of a WAN port.
Each port of the SRU card receives timing from either the external DTE or AM3440 system clock. If the DTE supplies the transmit timing, that clock signal must be synchronized to AM3440’s clock source.
The SRU card supports data rates ranging from 0.3, 1.2, 2.4, 4.8, 9.6, 14.4, 19.2, 28.8, 38.4, 48 and 64 kbps. Up to five 9.6 kbps DTE devices can be connected to this card for placement on a single DS0 time slot of a T1 or E1 line.
