An oil company in the Middle East wished to network their oil fields together for faster communication and immediate transfer of critical data. Some of their sites included large fields with large amounts of investment. Other smaller sites were new prospects or old fields that were nearly depleted.
Our O9400R devices formed the critical STM-4 backbone between the two largest sites while O9500 devices were deployed at the satellite sites. The O9400R supports STM-1/4/16 (OC-3/12/48), while the O9500R supports STM-1/4 (OC-3/12). Both support multiple ring protection as well as other features.
Above and Beyond
The O9500 provided both low speed access for legacy infrastructure built on old, aging oil fields, as well as high speed access for connection to new high speed devices and the local network.
In this installation, the O9400 provided a backbone link at STM-4 speeds with SNCP (Subnetwork Connection Protection). The O9400 also supports STM-16 should the company's networking needs increase. The device also has MSP 1+1 protection in case of line faults along the main STM-4 link.
For low speed DS0 level access such as FXS, FXO, and E&M, Loop's devices provide a perfect SDH link for power utilities and oil & gas companies.
